The Caprice Classic design and engineering process began with the "Voice of the Customer." A study was conducted in which participants rated the overall importance of various aspects of a vehicle including reliability, performance, appearance, price and efficiency. Chevrolet engineers then utilized this sample of customer priorities in determining areas of improvement for the Caprice Classic.

All Caprice Classic models are manufactured at a General Motors assembly plant in Arlington, Texas.
